Thanks, IdeaSmith! I’m convinced at least some of the gender stereotypes are in-built. I definitely did not teach my girl the concept of matching bangles and being excited about a new pair of clothes.
My son could hardly be bothered about what he’d like to wear. He could spend the entire year wearing track pants if you let him be. And he’s also never said, “I want to be a girl”
Of course, these things can’t be generalized to apply to all girls and boys, but yet…
And that girl is going to grow up and demand “equal rights” from men… Aah, the future of humanity
