I replied,

I didn’t say I wanted to be pregnant.
I said I wanted to be a mother.
You don’t need anybody but a child for that.

    @ rambler: I didn’t quite get that. I’d guess every child needs both a mother and a father. In the context of my post women have been playing both roles in some cases for far longer than men have now.
