no i don't think we are. :) but yes, there are so many of them around...
and the minute these criminals see that here's a woman who isn't afraid to be herself, purely herself, they'll flock to you as if you're a magnet. whether they're single or not, won't matter because they know that they love your mind. if not the rest of the package.
but that brings me to a question i've been asking myself of late - is it that i'm dysfunctional in a relationship or is it that i attract the wrong kind of attention by being brash enough to know and let it be known that this is ME...

And yes, I don't care two hoots about what others will say if I speak up but I've been deterred only by the significant other half, who has nary a worry in the world. if anyone is to burst her bubble let it be someone else. not me. besides, i also think that i'm not a vengeful person...

ah, your posts strike such a chord with me at times. :) thank you for writing this way and making me feel that there are others like me.

@ Rambler: Are you referring to the situation in the movie? I think what he did was right. He didn't take it further and made it clear that there was no way it could be rightly taken further.

@ Rakhi: Are we referring to the same person? I guess there are enough of them around. As for your last question, I don't know either. Why don't we? Or alternately - how do we treat women who speak up?

Worst is when these social criminals come back to see you years later and say 'can we let bygones be bygones?' Now I'm somebody who doesn't want to let her past dictate her present or her future. But some lessons are hard learnt; you never forget the way innocence was lost, bit by little bit, by the first, then the second, then the third, ad infinitum, such social criminals.
And yes, I know the situation of a committed friend flirting with you for a period of two years, till finally, the time came for his marriage. (of course to his established girl-friend of 7 years) But as you rightly mentioned it's always up to the woman to shield herself. But we are not Superwomen...at least not always. Why is it that the 'friend's are so sure that we won't speak up and ruin their marriages? I dunno... I just dunno...

so for the first bit, what would you want him to do?
